My last two commissions for 2022 have gone off for framing, and just in time, for Christmas!
It’s always a challenge to paint ‘late pets’ because sometimes the pictures are not the best or sharpest, or they could be old and faded or discoloured. In the case of the pair, I had to put them together from separate images with the light coming from different directions! And of course the pictures were different sizes so I had to make them look in proportion and ‘natural’. No mean feat! Anyway, I was happy with the final result and so was my lovely client!
I’m pleased to say this stunning Great Dane is still with us. She has the most amazing eyes, and yes, they are different colours. It’s not ‘artistic license’!
